Fashion at the royal wedding — 22 Comments

  1. prince William looks in dreadful pain, lol
Oprah needs a personal stylist, not the outfit for her, but imagine she gets invited but not Sara Ferguson, Andrews ex who is constantly on Oprahs show to “explain away” her numerous gaffes. I heard that the Queen is not too cool with this coupling since Hollywood is a HUGE no no to the Bluebloods, we shall see !!!

  2. I know that it’s Oprah’s world, and the rest of us just live in it–but how the heck did she rate an invitation to the royal wedding?

  3. but imagine she gets invited but not Sara Ferguson, Andrews ex who is constantly on Oprahs show to “explain away” her numerous gaffes.

IMDB lists 118 appearances on television by Sarah Ferguson since 1987. She’s appeared on Oprah! twice, most recently 7 years ago.

  4. I heard that the Queen is not too cool with this coupling since Hollywood is a HUGE no no to the Bluebloods, we shall see !!!

Among the Queen’s favored relations is her cousin the Duke of Gloucester, one of the crew resident in Kensington Palace. His daughter married a Kiwi / Maori carpenter with a bastard child. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis have had 18 years as a couple, 14 of them as man and wife. The Queen’s much loved niece Lady Sarah in 1994 married an actor who was the son of an actor. Prince Edward’s father-in-law sold tires for a living.

  5. Gina Torres, who is a makes every heterosexual male want to stare at every part of her beauty, came to fame via the way too short lived tv series Firefly.

  6. @art, ya know. I invite you to stop trolling me
You are perfectly free to come up with your very own remarks.

  7. Yes, there are some “questionable” fashion choices there; and yes, that red dress and the woman wearing it look great!

But, I’ll add another to the list of “wedding” dresses – that simple, yet, in my opinion, classy outfit worn by the bride’s mother.

It seemed to be stylish enough to look smart and at the same time simple enough as if trying to say “I know this day is about my daughter, and her future husband, not me.”

  8. You are perfectly free to come up with your very own remarks.

Pointing out that you’re full of it is my remark.

  9. Neo, I thought almost the same thing you said about every one. The one exception, Camilla’s hat–not attractive!

  10. Oprah looks like a pink pig wearing lipstick.
Kate and family are what royalty should look and act like.

Why invite all the Hollywood dreck to a royal nuptial in another land?? Not for the wedding gifts, I’m sure.

  11. Gina Torres’ invitation was almost certainly based on her role as the senior partner, Jessica Pearson, in the TV series “Suits,” in which Meghan Markle acquired her Hollywood fame as Rachel Dane, a secretary/law student/attorney in the law firm “Pearson Spector Litts.” It seems unlikely that Torres’ role in “Firefly” had anything to do with it. Several other actors from “Suits” were also in attendance at the wedding.

  12. Hmonrdick is right about the Gina Torres “Suits” link.

As to Oprah, according to the Fug Girls, Oprah arrived in London with another outfit that she belatedly decided was “too white” – would compete with the bride – and had Stella McCartney “whip something up” in a couple of hours. (gofugyourself.com) Maybe an excuse, but yeah, it just wasn’t a good result.

I do like it when you do fashion, neo-neo.

  13. Why can’t Princess Anne buy herself a lovely, feminine, Spring-colored dress? She looks dreadful imo.

  14. I also loved the outfit of the bride’s mother. Wonderful color, elegant design.
